Opening The Space
Turn on power by flipping the top switch in the breaker box to the right of the front door.
If you need heat, adjust the switch (on the wall the directly across from the front door) to the desired temperature
Before You Leave
Empty garbage and recycling outside (around the corner in the bins on Spruce)
Put a new liner in the trash can (trash bags are in the bathroom)
Return chairs and tables to where they started (one long table down the middle surrounded by chairs)
Turn off the heater and wait till the heater fan stops running
The heater fan will turn off automatically. You may then turn the power off by flipping the top switch in the breaker box
Lock & close the door
Security
Pipsqueak is not a secure space, and we can’t assume that the space isn’t monitored. Many social movement spaces are actively monitored by the state & police. Community
Many people who live in the neighborhood stop by to attend events and ask questions. If you’re having a private event, let them know that and direct them to our website and Instagram. Be friendly and welcoming. It’s important for the space to maintain good relationships. Allow access to basic utilities (water, internet, bathroom, electrical outlet.)
Occasionally there may be people like fascists or cops here to antagonize the space. If this happens, please immediately text or call the pipsqueak collective and do your best to de-escalate the situation.
